Monthly Assignment Meet-Up
The monthly meet-up is held on the first Monday of every month, and is only open to those who have completed either the Beginners or Intermediates course.
Its important to keep taking pictures, and keep challenging yourself. By attending the monthly assignment meet-up, you'll have the opportunity each month to shoot to a set brief, and then show your best picture to a group of your peers.
In addition to showing your best assignment shot, you can also show what you consider to be your best shot from the past 2 months, of any subject of your choosing.
The emphasis in these monthly meetings is on discussion. Its an opportunity for you to talk about your work, answer questions about it, and have it critiqued by the group, as well as for you to say what you think about other people's work, and ask questions of them.
There's an element of competition too, just for fun. After all the assignment shots have been viewed, there's a secret vote to decide the 3 best assignment shots for that month.
You will not know what the assignment is for that month until after you have signed up, when you'll be sent the assignment by email within a couple of days. Getting better requires you to challenge yourself, and do things you might not necessarily choose to, and this way you won't pick and choose which month to attend depending on whether the assignment appeals or not!
Morning or evening?
The morning session is between 10:30am and 12:30pm in the library of the Friends Meeting House on St Giles.
The evening session is between 6:30pm and 9pm in the bar of the Phoenix Picturehouse Cinema in Jericho. We have exclusive use of the bar, with a barperson, from 6:00pm.
Finally, you can only sign up for the next month's meeting, and not beyond. Those attending each meeting are then given the opportunity to sign up for the next month there and then, and so are given priority.
Each meet-up is limited to 24 people, and the cost of attending is £10.

UPDATE: There will be a break of 2 months before the next assignment meeting on the 2nd July. This will be available to book from the end of May.
